9TH GRADE BEGINS FALL 2018

“Learning is experience. Everything else is just information.” Albert Einstein

Summit Charter School’s mission is to engage students, stimulate their minds, build character, and open their hearts to neighbors. Hands-on classes and activities call to the “whole child.” STEAM initiatives are brought to life by field trips and experiments. Students perform local outreach, learning to be stewards of their environment and contributors to their community. Summit kids live the words of their daily pledge, “Each day in my words and deeds, I will do my best to live these seven virtues: Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Compassion, Self-Discipline, Perseverance, and Giving.”

Summit’s High School program will continue our strong mission as well as combine rigorous college preparatory curriculum, personalized learning experiences, and leadership training to create a dynamic high school experience where students are active learners. Starting in the fall of 2018, Summit Charter School is excited to welcome the pioneer freshman class, the class of 2022.

The vision of the high school is simple… Students will be challenged with a mix of classroom instruction four days a week and a PEAK Friday which will focus them on four elements.

1) Mentor 360,

2) Leadership Training,

3) Life Academy,

4) Community Engagement.

In August, 9th graders will fly to Jackson Hole for a week to participate in an outdoor leadership program hosted by the Teton Science Schools. Following this once-in-a-lifetime, team-building experience, the students will immerse themselves in a thoughtfully curated curriculum that not only addresses state standards, but develops the whole individual through PEAK Fridays, a weekly opportunity for students to activate and apply curriculum.
