Welcome Message
by Dr. Ned Fox

Interim Co-Directors
Dr. Ned Fox & Dr. Jim Hendrix

Having followed the rise of the Summit Charter School from its inception to its present progress ten years later, I can't be more pleased to see how much progress has been made,  from the idea to the reality.  Recently, the school received its ten-year renewal of charter, no mean feat in itself!

What has been accomplished here in those ten short years is a school where character education has been implemented, and it shows.  Many have told me how one can always tell a Summit Charter student, by his or her manners, the usual courtesy, and the thoughtfulness towards others.  There is a close bond at this school  between the students and their teachers and among the people at the school and the parents.

This is a school where parents are encouraged and asked to participate.  They serve in various capacities, not the least of which are on established committees, such as the Academic Affairs Committee, the Building Committee for the New Campus Site, and the current Search Committee for the new permanent Director of the School.

Currently, the School is working to implement a place-based environmental program that will be second to none, and that will be another signature program of the school.  Each child not only will be taught about his or her environment but also will learn to become active stewards of our natural resources.

The classes are relatively small, and the individual attention is there for each student.  The students interact among all grade levels, and there is a feeling of camaraderie among all ages.

Please come for a visit and let us show you the classes in action.  You will be pleased with what you see, I believe.
