Health and Physical Education
"Welcome to the Physical Education Home Page. My name is Cindy Gajda. I am the physical education and health teacher at Summit Charter School. This is my 7th year teaching at the school. My goal has always been to teach physical fitness as a lifetime activity. I try to show the students the benefits of exercise and how it can be fun."

Students will learn movement through independent, dual, or team sports and other activities. They will learn movement and spatial awareness through dance. Students will use cognitive skills to understand and improve their motor skills. Students will establish a pattern of regular participation in meaningful physical activity. They will understand the meaning of a healthy lifestyle.
As a parent, you can support the physical education program by having your child participate in physical activity, at least 20 minutes a day. You could encourage your child to work on stretching, push-ups, sit-ups and running and make sure your child is doing push-ups properly. One on one attention can be so helpful.
